Long Range Forecasts This section displays the seasonal forecasts issued for the 17 zones of the SWIO region. These forecasts are produced using a statistical adaptation of the large scale GCM forecasts implemented by the SEAFORDS tool (developed by Meteo France Center for Indian Ocean - La Reunion). The reference data for each zone is made of an average of ERA5 gridpoints. The Large Scale forecasts are given by some Global Producing Centers (GPC): ECMWF and Meteo France. The forecasts are issued for the rainfall anomaly (upper table) and the T2m anomaly (lower table) These forecasts are relevant at regional scale, they are produced automatically without any expertise. Therefore these results shouldn't be considered as official releases but as technical documents aimed at climate specialists.
